Hadimbal Temple

Hadimbal Temple : Hadimba or Dhungiri temple in Manali is one of the most important temples in the region. This four-story wooden temple is located in the middle of a forest called the Dhungiri Van Vihar. The Hadimba Temple is around 500 years old and is devoted to Goddess Hadimba, wife of the strongest Pandava Bhima. The temple is also known as Dhungiri temple, the name it has derived from the forest Dhungiri Van Vihar amidst which it is located. The temple is vertically four storeys tall and made of wooden structure. The beautiful front gateway of the temple leads you to the main temple complex. The interior of the temple is exquisite with carvings of mythological symbols. The exterior of the temple is equally enchanting as the forest around it serves an ideal gateway for recreational activities and a perfect picnic spot.

Temple Of Manu:The Manu temple is another respected and believed temple of Manali. Merely 3 km from the main market of Manali, the Manu temple is devoted to sage Manu, known as the creator of human race. This Manu temple of Manali is supposedly the lone temple dedicated to Manu Rishi throughout India.

Arjun Gufa: On the left bank of the Beas, 5-km from Manali near the village of Prini, is the 'Arjun Gufa' or the cave of Arjuna. In here Arjuna practised austerities to get Pashupata Ashtra or weapon from Lord Indra.

Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa:

The Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa is a representation of Buddhist culuture in Manali. The Gompa with a Buddhist statue was built in the end of 1960’s. The Monastery stands upright at the lower area of the main Mall of Manali and is a perfect blend of contemporary architecture and age old Tibetan culture.

Vashisth Hot Sulphur Springs
This small village near Manali is famous for its scenic beauty. The village has a temple dedicated to Lord Rama and Vashisth Muni. The village has some hot water springs, which are said to carry medicinal properties. It is a picturesque little place, 3-km out of Manali but on foot the distance is a bit shorter.

Solang Nullah
14-km northwest of Manali in the Solang Valley, this place offers Himachal Pradesh's best ski slopes. The Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute operates a 300m high ski lift and the month of February is the best month to ski over here. HPTDC runs seven-day package for ski courses with accommodation in the Hotel Rohtang Manaslu in Manali. Courses are also offered by the Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute and the North Face Ski School.

 

Solang Nullah

Jagatsukh Temple
It is one of the biggest villages in Kull district. About 6-km from Manali, Jagatsukh is famous for its Shiva temple that is built in "shikhara" style and nearby is the old and interesting Devi Sharvati temple.

 

Kothi
It is a pretty little village, 12-km from Manali on the Keylong road at the foot of Rohtang Pass. There are very fine views from Kothi, and the Beas River flows through a very deep and narrow gorge at this point. The well-situated Public Works Department (PWD) Resthouse is a popular place for overnight stays. Close to the rest house is an awe-inspiring gorge where Beas enters a chasm about 61m deep and just few metres broad.

 

Rahalla Falls
About 16-km from Manali and 4-km away from Kothi, at the start of the climb to the Rohtang Pass, are the beautiful Rahalla Falls at an altitude of 2,501m.

 

Nehru Kund
It is a spring of clear, cold water, named after the late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and is 6-km from Manali on Keylong road.

 

Gulaba Camp
20-km from Manali, is this beautiful place famous for sightseeing, picnic and photography.

Rohtang Pass

When you plan a trip to mesmerizing Manali, Rohtang Pass is the first tourist spot that always remains a priority in your must visit list. A drive of just about an hour and a half takes you amidst the snowy Himalayas and you surely feel the panoramic view of the mountains from the height of 4,112 meters. Rohtang Pass is a delight for any traveler for its ultimate sight of beautiful glaciers and deep narrow valleys. Rohtang Pass is an ideal location for recreational activity with family. The near by Dassaur lake adds on to the appeal of the place. You are sure to have a ball here with loved ones with a setting as a backdrop. Along with being a perfect gateway for fun and frolic, Rohtang Pass is also as a gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley just as Zojila pass is a gatway to Ladakh. So the trekkers and travelers to Ladakh usually begin their journey through Rohtang Pass.

 

Beas Kund
It is the source of river Beas, at the Rohtang Pass and is easily accessible. The great sage, Vyas performed `Tapa' here during the Mahabharat times. The place is still hallowed by the celestial light. It was because of this that the river got the present name of Beas.

 


Manikaran

Religion knows no disparity. This statement hold true when we talk of Manikaran, a scared place for Hindus and Sikhs alike. Manikaran boasts of a ancient Ram temple and a Gurudwara. The place also raises eye brows and develops keen inquisitiveness due to its hot water springs that boil almost near to a flowing river. Manikaran is an ultimate spiritual experience at the height of 1,737 meters.

Dhankia Mahadeva Temple, Raghunath ji temple, Brij Mahadev Temple and Kali Bari temple are other major religious attractions around Manali. Most of them are on the way from Kullu to Manali.

 

Nagar

At 1737 m, here am hot sulphur springs that bubble next to the by waters of the Penal river. The place is revered by both Hindus and Sikhs Treks from here lead to Pulga, Khirganga and Mantalai' a stretch of considerable natural beauty. The route finally reaches the Pin Parvati Pass (4802 m), which opens into the Sutlej valley.

 

Mountaineering Institute
The Mountaineering Institute located at Manali provides training facilities for basic and advance climbing both for Indian nationals and foreigners. This institute also conducts other adventurous sports activities like high altitude trekking, minor mountaineering, rock-climbing, skiing, and high altitude rescue and relief courses. The institute has sufficient lodging and boarding arrangements and equipment can be hired for trekking purposes.

Keylong
A village amidst fields of barley and buckwheat, Keylong is headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district, surrounded by brown hills and white heights. Khardung Monastery overlooks Keylong and is 3.5-km across the Bhaga River while Shashur Monastery is 1-km away.

Club House

Club house is a beautiful picnic spot that offers you an enchanting sight of deodhar forest along with a perfect cherry on the cake with a river flowing at its side. The place is developed with modern facilities and exciting family games that kick up your heels.
