Day 1

Arrive Guwahati - Shillong (110 kms 3hrs approx)

Transfer from Guwahati airport/railway station to Shillong en route visit Umium Lake. Shillong became the first capital of the State of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city centre is 1496m above sea level and currently has a population of around 270,000. Home to several waterfalls, it is also known as the Scotland of the East. The British legacy is still visible in the architecture and food habits of the population. Overnight at Shillong.

Day 2

Shillong - Dawki & Mawlynnong - Shillong (90 kms 3 hrs each way)

After breakfast drive from Shillong to Dawki(Indo-Bangladesh Border) and Myallynnong Village. Morning drive to Dawki, visit Indo-Bangladesh border and Umngot River (one can enjoy country boat ride here on direct payment basis). Later on proceed to the Mwallynnong village. Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.Evening return back to Shillong. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3

Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Shillong (60 kms 2 hrs each way)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunji in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on the planet and the only place in India to receive rain throughout the year. The town of Cherrapunji is nestled in the East Khasi Hills about 50 km southwest of the state’s capital, Shillong. Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra or Churra, means ‘the land of oranges’. The cliffs of Cherrapunji also offer stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh. Visit to Arwah Cave, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls, Dainthlen Waterfalls and Eco Park and Wei Sawdong Waterfalls. Return back to Shillong en route visit Elephant Falls. Overnight at Shillong.

Day 4

Shillong - Tezpur (250 kms 5.5 hrs approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Tezpur. Little more than a utilitarian stopover for travellers journeying into Arunachal Pradesh or Upper Assam, Tezpur is a charming town with some beautifully kept parks, attractive lakes and enchanting views of the mighty Brahmaputra River as it laps the town’s edge.Overnight at hotel.

Day 5

Tezpur - Dirang (200 kms7hrs approx.)

After breakfast drive to Dirang. Dirang is an almost picture-perfect Tibetan – Monpa stone village marred only by the main road. Above the picturesque stone houses rises a steep rocky hill topped with Old Dirangs Gompa and several walls. Overnight at Dirang.

Day 6

Dirang - Tawang(150 kms 5 hrsapprox)

After breakfast drive to Tawang. Enroute witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 14000 ft and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. (Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place). Tawang is situated at an altitude of 3500m. The natural beauty and solitude of Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges, Tawang chu River and Tawang Valley are mesmerizing. The inhabitants of the districts are all of Monpa tribes except Shyo village which is dominated by people of Tibetan Origin. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7

Tawang

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed for sightseeing of 400 years (17th century) old Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet long and 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books and manuscripts-handwritten and printed. Later visit Tawang War Memorial, a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. Rest of the day free to stroll round the streets of the town. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 8

Tawang - Bomdila (180 kms 6 hrs approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Bomdila. Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district located at the height of 8500 ft above the sea level. It has a lot of attractions for the tourists with its cool climate, Apple orchards, artistic people, snow-capped Himalayan peaks and Buddhist Gompas. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture. Explore the town in the afternoon.Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9

Bomdila - Kaziranga (220 kms 5-6 hrs approx..)

After breakfast drive from Bomdila to Kaziranga Kaziranga National park is a world heritage site famous for the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros. The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes and shallow pools. Kaziranga also has a good number of Tigers and is home to large breeding population of Elephants, Wild Water Buffalo and Swamp Deer. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10

Kaziranga

Early morning elephant ride at the park & return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast visit Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park. Later Jeep Safari in the Central range of the park. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11

Kaziranga - Guwahati (230 kms 4 hrs approx)

After breakfast drive from Kaziranga to Guwahati. The gateway to the northeast and the largest and most cosmopolitan city in the region, Guwahati serves as the starting block for most Northeast itineraries. It’s a somewhat featureless city – a prosaic heap of glass and concrete for the most part – but there are a scattering of interesting temples to explore. Walk its back alleys and old quarters, however, and you will be able to salvage a generous amount of local flavour that lingers amid its suburban sprawl of ponds, palm trees, small single-storey traditional houses and old colonial-era mansions.Overnight at hotel.

Day 12

Departure Guwahati

After breakfast visit Kamakhya temple - The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill, says the Shiva Purana, that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandava nrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his Suddarshan chakra. Later on transfer to the airport/railway station in time for onward connection.

Transfer from Bagdogra Airport-IXB to Gangtok

Assistance at the airport/railway station on arrival and drive to Gangtok. GANGTOK: At an altitude of 1750m, Gangtok became the state capital in the mid 19th century and has undergone rapid development since then. The downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Explore Gangtok

Transfer from Bagdogra Airport-IXB to Gangtok

Assistance at the airport/railway station on arrival and drive to Gangtok. Day 1

Arrive Guwahati - Shillong (110 kms 3hrs approx)

Transfer from Guwahati airport/railway station to Shillong en route visit Umium Lake. Shillong became the first capital of the State of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city centre is 1496m above sea level and currently has a population of around 270,000. Home to several waterfalls, it is also known as the Scotland of the East. The British legacy is still visible in the architecture and food habits of the population. Overnight at Shillong.

Day 2

Shillong - Dawki & Mawlynnong - Shillong (90 kms 3 hrs each way)

After breakfast drive from Shillong to Dawki(Indo-Bangladesh Border) and Myallynnong Village. Morning drive to Dawki, visit Indo-Bangladesh border and Umngot River (one can enjoy country boat ride here on direct payment basis). Later on proceed to the Mwallynnong village. Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Shillong (60 kms 2 hrs each way)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunji in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on the planet and the only place in India to receive rain throughout the year. The town of Cherrapunji is nestled in the East Khasi Hills about 50 km southwest of the state’s capital, Shillong. Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra or Churra, means ‘the land of oranges’. The cliffs of Cherrapunji also offer stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh. Visit to Arwah Cave, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls, Dainthlen Waterfalls and Eco Park and Wei Sawdong Waterfalls. Return back to Shillong en route visit Elephant Falls. Day 4

Shillong - Tezpur (250 kms 5.5 hrs approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Tezpur. Tezpur - Dirang (200 kms7hrs approx.)

After breakfast drive to Dirang. Dirang is an almost picture-perfect Tibetan – Monpa stone village marred only by the main road. Above the picturesque stone houses rises a steep rocky hill topped with Old Dirangs Gompa and several walls. Overnight at Dirang.

Day 6

Dirang - Tawang(150 kms 5 hrsapprox)

After breakfast drive to Tawang. Enroute witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 14000 ft and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. (Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place). Tawang is situated at an altitude of 3500m. The natural beauty and solitude of Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges, Tawang chu River and Tawang Valley are mesmerizing. The inhabitants of the districts are all of Monpa tribes except Shyo village which is dominated by people of Tibetan Origin. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7

Tawang

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed for sightseeing of 400 years (17th century) old Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet long and 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books and manuscripts-handwritten and printed. Later visit Tawang War Memorial, a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. Rest of the day free to stroll round the streets of the town. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 8

Tawang - Bomdila (180 kms 6 hrs approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Bomdila. Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district located at the height of 8500 ft above the sea level. It has a lot of attractions for the tourists with its cool climate, Apple orchards, artistic people, snow-capped Himalayan peaks and Buddhist Gompas. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture. Explore the town in the afternoon.Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9

Bomdila - Kaziranga (220 kms 5-6 hrs approx..)

After breakfast drive from Bomdila to Kaziranga Kaziranga National park is a world heritage site famous for the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros. The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes and shallow pools. Kaziranga also has a good number of Tigers and is home to large breeding population of Elephants, Wild Water Buffalo and Swamp Deer. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10

Kaziranga

Departure Guwahati

After breakfast visit Kamakhya temple - The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill, says the Shiva Purana, that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandava nrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his Suddarshan chakra. Later on transfer to the airport/railway station in time for onward connection.

   Itinerary

Day 1

Transfer from Bagdogra Airport-IXB to Gangtok

Assistance at the airport/railway station on arrival and drive to Gangtok. GANGTOK: At an altitude of 1750m, Gangtok became the state capital in the mid 19th century and has undergone rapid development since then. The downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a travellers delight.Overnight at hotel.

Day 2

Explore Gangtok

Breakfast at the hotel and full day excursion to Changu Lake which is 35 Kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the lake’s waters. Also visit New Baba Mandir Overnight at hotel.

Day 3

Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Gangtok to Lachen

Day 4

Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Lachen to Lachung

Early morning proceed for excursion to Gurudongma Lake and Chopta Valley. Later drive from Lachen to Lachung Overnight at hotel.

Day 5

Explore Lachung

Breakfast at the hotel and excursion to Yumthang Valley & back. - The valley of flowers. Flora, Fauna, Rhododendrons and Primulas and found in abundance. Yumthang is the summer grazing grounds of the Yaks. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6

Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Lachung to Gangtok

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Gangtok. Arrive Gangtok by late evening. Overnight at hotel

Day 7

Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Gangtok to Pelling

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for sightseeing in Gangtok visiting Flower Show, Handicraft, Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten, and Bakthang Falls. Afternoon drive from Gangtok to Pelling PELLING Located at a distance of 120 kms from Gangtok Pelling is another serene, mountain village which lies in the western districts of Sikkim. This village is situated at an altitude of 2000 mts(approx) and commands a spectacular view of Mt.Kanchenjunga. Overnight at hotel

Day 10

Explore Darjeeling

Early morning visit Tiger Hill to see a beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga, Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(closed on Thursday) which was started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mt. Everest, Zoological Park(closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Centre(closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tea Estate(from outside), Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11

Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Darjeeling to Kalimpong

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Kalimpong KALIMPONG At an altitude of 1250m, Kalimpong’s location is ideal for a pleasant, relaxed getaway. Its clement weather has made Kalimpong’s orchids and gladiole well renowned. Up to the early 1700s, the Kalimpong area was part of the Sikkim raja’s domain. In the early 18th century, the Bhutan king also took it over. In 1865, after the Anglo-Bhutan War , it was annexed to Darjeeling. Scottish Missionaries came here in the late 1800s. The town thrived as a wool trading center with Tibet till 1950s. Today it’s a quiet hill resort and a haven for retired people.    Itinerary

Day 1

NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport - Darjeeling (75 Kms. / 3 Hrs.)

Meet and Greet on arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra International Airport and transfer to Darjeeling (6,950 Ft.). On arrival check-in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 2

Darjeeling Full Day Sightseeing with Tiger Hill

Early morning (4:00 AM) visit Tiger Hill (Subject to availability of Permit / Token) and then back to hotel. After breakfast, starting at 8.30 AM, visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Ropeway, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Japanese Temple. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 3

Darjeeling - Kalimpong - Local Sightseeing (77 Kms. / 6.5 Hrs.)

After breakfast, transfer to Kalimpong (4,091 Ft. / 55 Kms. / 2½ Hrs.). On arrival check-in to your hotel. Afternoon enjoy half day tour of Kalimpong visiting Mangal Dham, Deolo Hill, Golf Course, Durpin Dara Hills and Pine View Nursery (Sunday closed). Overnight stay at Kalimpong.

Day 4

Kalimpong - Pelling via Namchi (135 Kms. / 10 Hrs.)

After breakfast, start for Pelling (6,300 Ft.) via Namchi. Visit Siddheshwar Dham (Chardham) and Sai Temple at Namchi. On arrival, check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 5

Pelling Full Day Sightseeing with Skywalk

After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and take the departure transfers to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra International Airport for your onward journey.

Day 6

Pelling - Gangtok (120 Kms. / 5 Hrs.)

After breakfast, transfer to Gangtok (5,500 Ft.). On arrival, check-in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 7

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (53 Kms. / 3 Hrs. one-way)

After breakfast, start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft. / 37 Kms. / 02 Hrs. from Gangtok) and further drive to Baba Mandir (13,200 ft. / 16 Kms. / 01 Hrs. from Tsomgo Lake). Evening back to Gangtok. Overnight stay at Gangtok. Note: • Documents for Tsomgo Lake & New Baba Mandir – 02 Passport Size Photo along with Photo Copy of Photo ID Proof (Passport or Driving License or Voter ID (Pan Card & Adhaar Card is not accepted). Day 8

Gangtok - Lachen (120 Kms. / 6 Hrs.)

After breakfast check out from hotel with limited luggage and proceed to Lachen (8,980 Ft.) in North Sikkim. On the way, take a break for some beautiful spots that are worth seeing and visiting like Naga Waterfall, The Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) and Lachung Chu (River) at Chungthang and Bhim Nala Waterfall. On arrival at Lachen, check into your hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at Lachen. Day 9

Excursion to Chopta Valley and Gurudongmar Lake (137 Kms. / 6 Hrs.)

Early breakfast proceeds to visit Gurudongmar Lake (17,100 ft.) via Chopta valley (13,200 ft.) and Thangu. Gurudongmar is considered as one of the 2nd highest lake in World, generally covered with snow from December to April or even more, and is known as the Holy / Sacred Lake. It will take approximately 3-4 hours’ drive from Lachen (One way). Afternoon back to hotel have your lunch rest of the day is at leisure for individual activities, Dinner and Overnight stay at Lachen.

Day 10

Lachen - Lachung (47 Kms. / 2 Hrs.)

After breakfast transfer to Lachung (8,738 Ft.) through the picturesque valley. On arrival check-in to the hotel, have lunch and enjoy the day as you like it. Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 11

Lachung - Yumthang Valley - Gangtok (161 Kms. / 9 Hrs.)

Early Morning drive to Yumthang Valley is known as Valley of Flowers (12,000 ft / 26 Kms / 1½ Hrs. one way). Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks and winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back, visit Hot Spring, which is considered to have medicinal properties. Back to hotel for lunch and drive to Gangtok (5,500 Ft.). On the way, if the weather is clear you may get to see the mighty Khangchendzonga from Singhik view point. On arrival at Gangtok check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 12
